Athletics

Last Wednesday was our school athletics day. I was really nervous but at the same time excited. Our first event was softball throw it was really boring because I had to wait in the long 12 yr old girls line. Oh Finally I said to myself it was finally my turn I threw very hard that the next day my hand was so sore that I couldn't even move it but I was really proud of myself because at the end I cam second place.

We had to wait for like another 20 minutes because we were with the 11 year olds and it was their turn. Our second event was shot put and this time it was better because we have to wait so long like we did at softball at the end I came 1st place which was even better I think I WON from all of everyone were supporting me

Surf Life saving ED at Mairangi Bay

Last Friday the year 7s drove off by bus to Mairangi Bay where we were going to learn about surf life saving education. When we got to Mairangi Bay we were introduced to a life guard her name was Rosie. Rosie told us lot's about Mairangi bay she also talked to us about being safe in the water and things that we need when we go to the beach.

During Morning tea we played some touch on the sand after morning tea we played Life Guards coming with the life guards hahaha isn't that funny. I really want to go back there because the waves were beautiful and the sea there wasn't that cold it just felt a little cold but to me it was all goods. Actually we might go back there to fund raise for our schools wheelie day because Mr Burt told us that heaps of little kids kept coming up to him and asking him if we can have a wheelie day at our school.

One of my high lights was when I was Boogie boarding facing to shore and then I didn't know that there was a big wave coming up behind me but then I knew because everyone were shouting out to me that there was a big wave coming towards me I turned around and I was swept off my feet I was getting really worried at that stage because I couldn't feel the ground all I felt was my body sinking down into the deep blue ocean.

Going to Mairangi Bay to learn about Surf Life Saving was a big experience for me I really learn't alot about the different waves that occur when we are out at sea. I now know which are the BAD waves and the GOOD waves.

Earth worms

Earthworms

1.Segmented worms are annelids. Segmented means a part that is cut off or can be separated from the rest of something,as in a segment of an orange.
2.Their skin is moist and they are covered by a film of mucus. Mucus is thick and also slimy which develops in your nose and throat when you have a heavy cold.
3.Worms are decomposers. This means that they eat soil, dead and decaying material.
4.The non-living material is mixed as it passes through their guts and is recycled back into the soil. This means that when they eat food and it comes through their guts it is then been turned into soil.
5.worms aerate the soil turning it over and remixing it.
6.The soil is very invaluable for healthy soil which means you can probably use the soil for gardening. And last but not least everyone should know that Earthworms can also lay eggs!!!!!!!!

Cockroaches of the world

Something that I learned this term is that Manfaze Bugs belong to the stink bug family. These bugs are green and are very smelly.
You can find a whole heap of Cockroaches in the out of Queensland,Australia.
The unusual thing about their young is that they are born live.
These cockroaches are just 3 inches long.
They come out of their burrows to meet and to move on.
They burrow underground because they think it's much cooler.

All Blacks vs Spring Boks

All Blacks made a great win over South Africa in the Tri Nations on Saturday. I was very surprised to hear that in the last minute of the game Israel Dagg scored the last try for the All Blacks.

They played a very ruthless game and gave it all their best to WIN. I have to say that they are almost becoming my favourite rugby team. I think that during their game they did a very good job of team work and support. GO ALL BLACKS!!!!!!!!

Staying at the Airport for hours

After our fiafia performance me and my family went to the Auckland airport to wait for my sister who had travelled off to Samoa with some members of her school. It was so boring because we had to wait for ages and ages. Still no one came. But then suddenly we heard all of this noise coming down the hall way which sounded like a bunch of Samoan Kids.

The Lovely islands

I LOVE the Islands because they are LOVELY and also stunningly BEAUTIFUL. The Islands make me think of my home country SAMOAbut right now the pictures that are going through my head are of the Tsunami, because a few weeks ago the Tsunami hit Samoa and alsoTONGA which was really sad. But luckily my Mum and Dads side of the country didn't get hit because their Village was on the other side of the big hill. The worst Villages that I have heard of that got hit by the Tsunami was Lalomanu and Poutasi Beach. My Mum was really sad because my Aunty was having a vacation near the beach and she was held up by the Tsunami!!!! We were all very thankful when she returned back safely.
I really hope that other people who have lost family and friends are all safe and coping with this tragedy.

Immersion Assembly

Every start of the term at Point England school we have an immersion Assembly.

An immersion assembly is when our staff and Teachers dress up to give us a hint of what our new theme will be about.
One of my favourite themes has to be either out of Light Fantastic or Around the world in 80 days.

I remember last year when Ms T was dressed as the Ginger bread man. When she was in her costume she was dressed in a disguise suit so that we cant see her face.

At every Immersion Assembly it is really funny because a lot of teachers look really funny like Mrs Telea when she coloured her teeth in with vivid.

Our NZ Rolemodels

As you can see ,Kevin Mealamu,Casey Williams and Joe Rokocoko are all Rolemodels for NZ Rugby Teams and also Netball Teams.

They represent our country in trying to win all their games.
My favourite Netball player is Casey Williams and my favourite rugby player is Richie Mcaw its just because he is the captain for the All Blacks.

Their are also some other people that reprsent our country like Julian Dean and Mahy Drysdale.
Their are also plenty more but I can only think of these 2.

James Rolleston

The youngster James Rolleston is a very good actor I think that's why he got to be boy in the movie BOY.

James told what now that the reason why he got he got to act in the movie was because a lady came into their classroom and asked if their class would like to act in an upcoming movie which was BOY.

By the way his school is down in Christchurch.
James also told what now that he was not meant to be Boy it was actually his friend Kingi. But when they kept on auditioning 3 days later they announced James as boy.

James is really proud of himself because that little movie made him famous.
I can also say that his movie is great because of all the people that participated in making the movie. I hope that another series of Boy comes out soon.

Have you seen Kaitangata Twitch

Every Sunday night I watch a half an hour movie which is called Kaitangata Twitch.

The movie Kaitangata Twitch is about a girl called Meredith. Meredith is kind of like the hero in the movie. What Meredith does in the movie is to try and stop her mum's ex friend from trying to build a Mansion on Kaitangata.

Kaitangata is a name of a mountain.
Their are also some other people in the movie who are hero's as well one of them was an old man. The thing about the old man is that he keeps on getting bad visions about what is going to happen to Kaiatangata.

Anyways you can here more about this movie later on this term.

Davids uppercut to the mat!!!

David Tua's decade long dream of becoming world heavyweight champion was significantly shaken yesterday when he was dropped to the canvas for the first time in his 56- fight professional career.

It was a very lucky draw yesterday when
Monte 2 gonz Barrett uppercut ted our man Tua to the mat. It was a very lucky draw in
the end because they both boxed very well until the 12th ro
und.
In the end Monte 2 gonz Barrett said that everyone knew that he should of one but no.
I think the reason why he didn't win was because he was trying to block Tua's left hook.

My Netball STARS

My netball team girls are very talented netball players.
For the start of the year we lost our game against St Cuthberts.
On the third week it was very surprising because we WON against Holy Cross.
We really cant wait until we play St Kents today.
I really hope that from now on we start winning all of our games from now on.
I wish my girls all the best for tonight's game.
GOOD LUCK SUPER STARS!!!!!

Our ruthless game against Henderson intermediate

On Friday the 3rd of June the rugby girls were transported away at Henderson to play a rugby game against them. When we got there we went straight off to the field to get warmed up. When it was about past twenty minutes time we were playing. Henderson kicked off. I was very excited because I knew that my team was going to try their best because as we already knew most of the Henderson girls were very big and very strong I know that my girls were ready and were really excited at the time they also knew that size doesn't matter. At the end we lost but we still know that we tried our best because CHAMPIONS NEVER GIVE UP.

Our next game is against Manuwera which is a home game.

Good Luck to your next game girls.

My supporting classmates

My classmates are really supportive and they are also really helpful.
The thing that I like about my classmates is that they are always kind and they are really supportive. My teacher is another person who I would like to thank and to reward because she has also been helpful to me. I will never forget my classmates and my teacher Ms Tito and my classmates mates because they were the people who inspired me to blog to sing songs and to get into alot of sports groups.

The girl who inspires me to love singing is one of my BFFS Etta!!!

MY Favorite Wrestler

My favorite wrestler is Kelly Kelly because she is really good at defending herself , she is also good at getting other girls on the ground. She is a really good role model for me because she takes part in all of her games. Every time she never misses any of her games one day I would like to have her signature and a really big poster of her in my bedroom.
