Athletics

Last Wednesday was our school athletics day. I was really nervous but at the same time excited. Our first event was softball throw it was really boring because I had to wait in the long 12 yr old girls line. Oh Finally I said to myself it was finally my turn I threw very hard that the next day my hand was so sore that I couldn't even move it but I was really proud of myself because at the end I cam second place.

We had to wait for like another 20 minutes because we were with the 11 year olds and it was their turn. Our second event was shot put and this time it was better because we have to wait so long like we did at softball at the end I came 1st place which was even better I think I WON from all of everyone were supporting me

The SMELLY SMELLY STINK BUG

Stink Bugs are found in many places around the world. There are hundreds of species of stink bugs around the world. The stink bug is very easy to find by it’s look and easily by it’s smell. Stink bugs can come in different colours like green brown and even black . You can find hundreds of stink bugs just at North America. The stink bug is a member of the Hemiptera Order which means it comes from a group of different types of bugs. STINK BUG WARNING!!! If you ever find a stink bug in your home do not crush it because the smell will get even worser.

Surf Life saving ED at Mairangi Bay

Last Friday the year 7s drove off by bus to Mairangi Bay where we were going to learn about surf life saving education. When we got to Mairangi Bay we were introduced to a life guard her name was Rosie. Rosie told us lot's about Mairangi bay she also talked to us about being safe in the water and things that we need when we go to the beach.

During Morning tea we played some touch on the sand after morning tea we played Life Guards coming with the life guards hahaha isn't that funny. I really want to go back there because the waves were beautiful and the sea there wasn't that cold it just felt a little cold but to me it was all goods. Actually we might go back there to fund raise for our schools wheelie day because Mr Burt told us that heaps of little kids kept coming up to him and asking him if we can have a wheelie day at our school.

One of my high lights was when I was Boogie boarding facing to shore and then I didn't know that there was a big wave coming up behind me but then I knew because everyone were shouting out to me that there was a big wave coming towards me I turned around and I was swept off my feet I was getting really worried at that stage because I couldn't feel the ground all I felt was my body sinking down into the deep blue ocean.

Going to Mairangi Bay to learn about Surf Life Saving was a big experience for me I really learn't alot about the different waves that occur when we are out at sea. I now know which are the BAD waves and the GOOD waves.

Earth worms

Earthworms

1.Segmented worms are annelids. Segmented means a part that is cut off or can be separated from the rest of something,as in a segment of an orange.
2.Their skin is moist and they are covered by a film of mucus. Mucus is thick and also slimy which develops in your nose and throat when you have a heavy cold.
3.Worms are decomposers. This means that they eat soil, dead and decaying material.
4.The non-living material is mixed as it passes through their guts and is recycled back into the soil. This means that when they eat food and it comes through their guts it is then been turned into soil.
5.worms aerate the soil turning it over and remixing it.
6.The soil is very invaluable for healthy soil which means you can probably use the soil for gardening. And last but not least everyone should know that Earthworms can also lay eggs!!!!!!!!
